Bavaria is tightening its access regulations for restaurants and accommodation providers: the 2G rule will apply to guests from Tuesday.
As a reaction to the out of control corona pandemic, Bavarian restaurants and hotels will now have to deal with the corona 2G regulation. This tightening of the corona rules should already be decided on the weekend. Details will be determined at the closed session of the Council of Ministers on Sunday. The tightening should come into force next Tuesday the 16th of November.
The situation in Bavaria is extremely dramatic
▶ The 2G rule (access only for fully vaccinated and recovered people) has only applied in Bavaria in districts with the highest corona warning level red for most cultural, leisure and sports offers.
▶ NOW it is to be extended to the interior areas of the catering trade and accommodation establishments. Up until now, access was still possible with a current, negative PCR test.
“The number of infections is at a record high. The current situation is extremely dramatic and worrying. Only with consistent access restrictions such as 2G can we succeed in protecting our health system from an even more dramatic burden.”

Bavarian Restaurants und Hotels (and clubs and discos)
The Ministry of Health wants to enforce 2G plus for clubs and discos. That would mean that access would only be possible if vaccinated or recovered and tested. However, there is currently no legal basis for this. The federal government is called upon to create this.
▶ Operators of clubs and discos in Bavaria will have the choice from Tuesday: Either they establish a voluntary 2G-plus rule for their business or 2G applies. In this case, an FFP2 mask must be worn in the rooms, according to the ministry.
Exception for body-hugging services?
Body-close services (such as hairdressers and beauticians) could be excluded from the 2G expansion, as reported by the dpa. A visit there would therefore still be possible with a negative test.
In addition, on Thursday Söder announced an expansion of the mask requirement at 2G and called for 2G plus for clubs and discos: Then vaccinated and recovered people could only go to party with a negative rapid test.
