Corona checks in gastronomy: Police control restaurants and cafes. Only 2G, 3G and 3G plus allowed in!

German police in Baden-Württemberg will increasingly check on whether the corona rules are being observed in pubs, restaurants and cafes. That mean only those who have been vaccinated and recovered should be allowed in since the 2G rules are preferred.

The need for German police checks

In the current situation – with fewer than 250 corona patients in the intensive care units in the country and a hospitalization incidence of less than 8.0 – the 3G rule applies in the catering industry in closed rooms: Vaccinated, convalescent and tested people are allowed, but must except when eating and drink wearing a mask. However, restaurant owners have recently been able to choose the 2G model. Then people who have not been vaccinated or recovered are not allowed to enter a restaurant.

“We have to make sure that innkeepers actually check the vaccination or convalescence certificates and collect the contact details,” said Lucha. “Only then will we get through autumn and winter safely. Those who stick to the rules have nothing to fear.” The action was coordinated with the Ministry of the Interior.

Health Minister Manne Lucha

“It is still important that we all pull together and adhere to the rules,” said the Green politician in a statement. “This is the only way to take the steps towards normalcy. That is why we would like to use this focus control campaign to sensitize people in the country to continue to comply with the Corona regulation.”

“We will continue regular and random checks of this kind; to ensure that restaurants, bars and cafes adhere to the 2G and 3G corona rules. Currently, restaurateurs are only allowed to let in vaccinated, tested and recovered people into their premises”.
