These are the 3 surprising beer tips and why you should always have beer at home

Reasons to have beer at home: Beer should definitely be a household item! Well, not only to have with a snack, after work or at parties. It is a fantastic addition too your household arsenal! Find out 3 things you can do with beer at home below.

Fertilizing with beer – make your plants happy again!

Do you still have leftover beer from the night before? Then don’t throw them away, do something good for your plants and water them with them

Beer is a natural plant fertilizer: Whether for your indoor plants or your green favorites on the terrace or balcony. Stale beer is ideal as a natural fertilizer for green plants due to the fermented hops and can also prevent the appearance of pests at the same time. How it works? For the natural plant fertilizer, leave a beer open for a day or use beer leftovers from the day before and add them to the watering can in the watering can. Then water your plants with it as usual and you will enjoy your green favorites for a long time.

TIP: For best results, you should repeat watering the plants with beer once or twice a month. Try not to use it to fertilize your green plants, as the alcohol will destroy the plant cells in the long term.

Additional Tip: Beer will make your leafy plant shiny
In addition to its function as a fertilizer, beer residues can also make the leaves more shiny in no time at all in green plants . All you have to do is soak a cotton ball or a soft cloth in the leftover beer and then run it over the leaves, done.

Make furniture polish from light beer

Are there still a couple of half-full beer bottles from the last party on the table? Perfect! The dirty and grayed wooden furniture will be happy! Beer is ideal for use as a furniture polish. Oak furniture in particular is always available for a drink.

Light, warm beer is particularly good for the surfaces. It is better not to let the real wood furniture try dark beer. Take a microfiber cloth and moisten it with a little beer. Then gently clean the wooden furniture with it. Finally polish briefly with a soft cloth and voilà: Cabinets & Co. are suitable for daylight again!

You can also make a simple furniture polish yourself for oak furniture. All you need for this is some light beer.

How to make the furniture polish from beer:

  1. For the beer to be effective, it has to be warm. So first heat it in a saucepan over low heat.
  2. Then place the warm beer on a clean cotton cloth.
  3. Spread the beer on the wooden surface in a circular motion.
  4. Finally, polish with a soft cloth.

Disadvantage:  The slight smell of beer disappears quite quickly – if it still bothers you too much, this furniture polish is probably not for you.

Remove coffee is one of the best reasons to have beer at home!

Beer is an excellent way to clean surfaces – coffee stains in particular can be removed very well with beer. For example, if you’ve spilled coffee on the carpet, you just pour some beer on the spot and let it soak in for a moment.

After a few minutes, gently wipe it over with a sponge. For stubborn stains, repeat the process several times until the stain is gone. To neutralize the beer smell, wipe off with a little clear water – done.
